Obituary of Bernadette Easton
The beautiful Bernadette Easton-Kirkland (Bern), 54, gained her wings on November 8th, 2021 in Wayne , N.J.
Born from parents, Arnold and Laura Easton on November 24, 1966, in Paterson, NJ, Bernadette was a lifelong resident.
Bernadette was preceded in death by grandfathers Charles MacDonald and Robert Easton Sr., grandmothers Stella MacDonald and Tiney Broadhead-Easton, and brothers Robert (Bob) Easton, and Ronald (Ronnie) Easton-Taylor.
She is survived by father Arnold Easton, mother Laura MacDonald-Easton, three children Richard Kirkland, Jessica Kirkland, and Nyje Johnson, two grandchildren Zion Minto, Kaiden Harrison, four sisters Brenda Easton-Johnson (Allen), Denise, Malinda, Jean, three brothers Arnold (Brenda), Kenneth, Scott, sister in laws Sharon Rountree Easton, Diane Watkins-Easton and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that loved her.
Bernadette was educated with the Paterson Public School systems including John F. Kennedy High School, class of 1984. Gifted at an early age, Bernadette succeeded through school and went on to pursue careers in the industries of Insurance, Broadcast Communications, and Transportation and Warehousing. She was employed for many years at Prudential (Wayne, N.J), United States Post Office (Paterson, N.J), and Optimum Cable. Her positive spirit and contagious laughter brightened those who knew her in and out of the workplace and she was the type of woman you would remember forever. Although Bernadette captured the hearts of many in the workplace, there was no job greater than being a mother to her three children.
Bernadette was a mother, sister, daughter, aunt, cousin, friend and caretaker to her parents, there is nothing she would not do for her family. She loved music, singing, and family gatherings. You would often find her having an enjoyable time with her family, whether it was humorous jokes, or even singing Tina Marie or Blue Magic at the top of her lungs. Her family enjoyed her presence as it was much needed and brought out the joy in others. She had the smile of sunshine, strength of a bull, and a greeting that made you feel like you were on the red carpet. The family will hold her in our hearts forever. Her journey showed people how to fight through life despite any adversity. We love you always.
