Obituary of Arthur N. Boone, Sr.

Arthur Boone, Sr. 85, 12/17/2020 of Monroe New Jersey was born on April 30, 1935 in Wake Forest NC, to the late John and Beulah Boone. He spent his childhood years in Wake Forest NC where he attended elementary and high school. After graduating from high school, he moved to Durham NC where he worked and attended North Carolina Central College. Arthur also married Clara Mcleod while working and attending school in Durham NC. To that union was born four children, Arthur Boone, Jr., Venice Boone, Thomas Boone and Gregory Boone. That union now has additional generations that includes eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Arthur’s life journey landed him in his current home state of New Jersey which has been his home state for fifty plus years. In New Jersey Arthur married Annie Tate who predeceased him in May of 2014. The two of them would eventually settle in Monroe N.J. where they both spent their remaining years. While living in New Jersey, Arthur attended Messiah Baptist Church in East Orange N.J. where he spent several years as a deacon. He also continued his education at Rutgers University while maintaining a career with the state of New Jersey as an officer with the Essex County Youth House. Survivors includes all of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sister Mary Atwater; his brothers Franklin Boone and Dr. Sherle Boone and a host of other relatives and friends.
