Obituary of Thyria Monica Caldwell

Thyria Monica Caldwell, 47, lost her battle to cancer on Thursday, January 2, 2020 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. Born June 23, 1972, in New Brunswick New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Antonio Dudley and Marva Cumberbatch. Thyria graduated from Highland Park High School and received a B.A.in Criminal Justice from Kean College in Union New Jersey. She was also a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Incorporated. Thyria was a Human Resources Administrator at NJ Sharing Network for 10 years. Thyria is survived by husband William Barry Caldwell, Jr, daughters Niya Imani Caldwell and Jurnee Sanaa Caldwell, stepson Ahmad Nafis Caldwell. In-laws William Barry Sr and Mary Caldwell. Brother In-law Terrence Sartor and nephews Terrence Kyler “TK” and Antonio Sartor. Uncles Mitland Cumberbatch, Franklin Cumberbatch Sr., aunt RubyCumberbatch, extended brothers (first cousins) Franklin Jr.,Fernando Cumberbatch and “Nephew” Julian Eloy Cumberbatch. She was predeceased by her sister Antonietta Sartor who also lost her battle to cancer in 2011. Above all else, Thyria enjoyed spending time with her family, especially going to the movies and lunch with her daughters, as well as going on family vacations. She always looked forward to holiday gatherings – spending time with her extended family David Hoffman, Sol-Ana Martinez – Extended sisters Erika Lane, Silyn Soloman, Marie Munn, and their children – and of course Karen “mommy” Sanders,who was like a second mother to Thyria. Thyria will be greatly missed by those who loved her. She was a kind, loving, compassionate and spiritual soul who gave selflessly to her close friends and family. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
